Stunning Success for the School's Equestrian Team
Competing against 45 other schools from all across the UK over the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend, Haverfordwest High’s team came an amazing second in the championship, missing out on first place by only the slimmest of margins.
After encouraging results in the early stages of the competition, run on the world famous All England Showjumping course at Hickstead in Sussex, Megan Percy, Eleanor Luke, Rebecca Luke, Seren James and... Sofia Jamieson fought off stiff competition from some of the most expensive and well resourced private schools in England as well as school teams from Brecon and Ysgol Preseli to achieve a far better placing than was expected.
Following a tough qualifying round in Wales, the 600 mile round trip proved worth it as the determination, commitment and teamwork of the girls paid off with both team and individual successes. Not only did the team achieve a notable second in the 75 centimetre Eventers Challenge but Rebecca Luke scored an individual second place in the same event.
Well done girls
